View Full Version : bumper coating and clear coat?

I want to paint the plastic piece on bottom cover on my scooter/motorcycle... flat black so will black become glossy after put clear coat on or still stay flat? I want flat.... no glossy
am I wrong? bumper coating don't need clear coat?

For your application I am going to recommend our Trim Paint #TP70. This paint has a great Semi Flat Black color and sheen and works very well on plastic. Lightly scuff up your plastic parts to be painted with a Red Scotch Brite pad, wipe down with one of our Prep Wipes and top coat with the Trim Paint.

Could I find Red Scotch Brite pad anywhere or only at auto parts store?

Yes they should have them at most any Auto Parts store in the paint section. You can use the Green too or 600 grit paper.

Adhesion Promotor isn't a must but a good idea if the piece your painting gets a lot of abuse. Make sure you scuff up the piece your painting well and wipe it down with a prep wipe prior to any paint.
