First let me say thank for this forum. I have a 71 Super Beetle that I have had for going on 25 years. I am finally doing what I have wanted to do to it when I drove it back in High School. Anyway, now that you figured out my age. I have spent the last two years doing body work and mods to the Bug. I am at the point for paint. Several paint shops in my town want 900-2300 dollars to paint it.

Some preface: The Bug is stripped and primed with Dupli color sealer primer. It had been final sanded with 300grit. I would like to paint it a yellow (little lighter then Chrome yellow) or a Marina Blue (Powder Blue) with a white panel on the sides.

I guess my questions are. With the Paint shop system how much work is there really involved. And how hard is it really to use. This will be my first color paint job. I am not looking for a show car but I want it to look good.

Thanks for the post and compliments. What you will want to do is browse around this forum especially in the Paint Shop area. There are all sorts of posts from myself and from users of Paint Shop. This will help you determine how much paint is needed and what steps there are to take when completing a paint job. It sounds like you are at a perfect place to start applying the Paint Shop primer. After that is complete let it dry for 24 hours and then wet sand it with 600 grit paper. Apply your color of choice and then lay down 4-5 slow wet coats of clear. Let the clear dry for 24-36 hours then wetsand that with 2000 grit then buff. I hope this all helps. Enjoy your project.
