I plan on painting my motorcycle. At first I was going to go with the metalcast but decided to try the metal specks. There is manufacture stickers under the clear coat on the tank. Should I strip the tank to bare metal first to remove the stickers? If so what primers do I use?

the clear coat will need to be sanded off first to assure maximum adhesion of the paint. stripping to bare metal is always the best route for a new paint job. if you do strip it to bare metal, you will need to use an etching primer to start and then i recommend a high build primer after the etching primer. be sure to wet sand between coats to achive the best finish.
if you do not wish to strip to bare metal, then lightly sand the areas you wish to paint to remove all wax, clear, dirt, ect. then spray a surfacer primer and then paint.
