Is Duplicolor primer compatible with high dollar base coats..Ie:Dupont Hot hues..House of Colors..ect?

Yes it is compatable but you have to keep in mind the painters rule of thumb.

You can apply enamel over lacquer but not lacquer over enamel. The harsh solvents in lacquer will lift the enamel.

Most of our aerosol primers are lacquer and our Paint Shop line is also Lacquer.

If you ever have any doubts test a small descrete area first or any extra metal panels you might have laying around your garage.

I used Duplicolor Primer Surfacer,And it came in a 1 gallon can,Also I used Duplicolor Reducer with it and that also came in a 1 gallon can,which I had to mix 1 to 1.I have looked on the cans and I don't know weather it's a laquor or an enamel...I have a quart of Duplicolor Sealer and some acetone to mix in it...Nothing say's Laquor or Enamel....I would never use a rattle can to paint a vehicle with by the way....
How can I find out what type of primer I have??

So I am assuming that it is a lacquor.Will this work with it? - URETHANE BASECOAT with URETHANE CLEARCOAT Kits or this AU - SINGLE STAGE ACRYIC URETHANE.I want a basecoat that has almost a show type deep gloss finish after the clearcoat.Thanks

It sounds like you are using the Professional Finishes line that the new Paint Shop has replaced. If you have already used the Primer Surfacer you will be ok applying the Paint Shop over that. If you have already applied the color of the old Prof Finishes then that will have to be stripped off. Either way test a small descrete area before apply the Paint Shop over top. What kind of tape is used to mask off a truck bed when applying the truck bed liner??

Regular low tack masking tape works very nicely.
