Maybe someone out there can give me pointers on paper grit, buffing tools, and general "Don't screw it up" knowledge! I have large and tiny paint failures on hood, and have to also tape to a tape stripe...any tips and encouragement(?), would be appriciated.(take it to a professional? haha)

i have had luck using 1000 grit paper to start. then 2000 grit to finish. i would not use anything more coarse than 1000 to prevent from breaking through. be sure the surface is clean of any wax, grease, or dust before you spray the paint. i have pics posted of my progress so far on another thread. i would recommend buffing by hand if not experienced with a buffing wheel. takes time but the results are worth it.

Machmama, chriss68 correct on what he mentioned. Take a look at some of the other threads throughout this board for some more advice for your project. The good thing about our products is that if you screw up it is easy to fix. I am not sure what you mean by tape to a tape stripe. If you mean that you have to apply masking tape to a taped on stripe then that is ok. Just use the blue low tack tape. You really going to want to use that for any paint work on your car. Let me know if you have any other questions.
