Ok i have always worked with urathane and was used to the shine after. hardly any buffing required. I love the ease of the duplicolor system it dries so fast you can shoot a car in your yard and get hardly any nibs or runs..
But to finishes a duplicolor job you have to BUFF IT!! no way around it or your paint will look dull and flat... i will attach 2 pics of bikes i have shoot before i have buffed them.. After i buff them this week end i will show you the finished products.

You are correct. This is true with any lacquer paint. Fast drying and it doesn't dry to a super high gloss finish. The key to little orange peal and a glossier finish is to slow down! Hold the gun closer and lay down 4-5 slow wet coats. After you let it dry for 24-36 hours or more you can then wet send with 2000 and then buff.
