First of all, i have enjoyed reading the past posts and replies on here and especially the help from the administrator that answers the question...that kind of customer support is the kind consumers look for when they are gonna drop some hard earned cash on a product. Thank you Duplicolor.

Ok, i currnetly drive a red 2001 dodge ram 1500 reg cab nothing fancy but its mine and paid for but we all have seen the paint defect on the full size trucks, and well it gets noticed by the honies. I plan to use the Paintshop system but since there is no body work needed and its on the original paint, i dont need to primer just degrease, scuff, and paint?(Oh incase you dont know what the defect is the clear and paint in sum areas have craked down to the primer) and if i just need to do those three steps can i scuff the door jams and paint the hugger orange directly over the red with out primer?

Thanks for the great comments! I am very familiar with the paint issues Dodge had back then. My buddy has a 96 Ram. Since your paint is flaking down to the primer you will have to scuff all of the paint and sand off any loose paint. You will then have to prime. If you don't the different colors you have going on(red/primer) will show right through the Hugger Orange paint. Use the Paint Shop primer after all of your prep work is complete then Huggar Orange then 4-5 coats of clear applying it slow and wet so the paint flows. Wetsand with 2000 after 24-36 hours then buff. Have fun.

I know a guy who has one, they are good trucks. His is a 89 4x4. He also has a 99 Dodge 2500 with cummins, but he mostly drives the D50 LOL.
