I’m in the last process of a restore of a 67 Cougar. Next step is the paint.
I want a metallic blue.
I’ve notice the “clear coat metallic” product. I need to ask
By shooting this metallic clear over a base coat, is this the method of creating that metallic look?
Or is it best to shoot a metallic base and shoot just a “gloss clear coat”?
What metallic blues doe Duplicolor offer in the Paint shop product?

Not trying to be a confrontational forum member but convince me why I should buy the DupliColor Paint shop product over the mid quality automotive clear coat base coat system?

Price not being that substantially differnet in my research.

We currently offer one metallic blue called Deep Blue #BSP204. It is similar to Indigo Blue GM used in the early 2000's code WA9792. The Metallic Clear is our clear with a fine Pearl flake added to give a metallic/pearl effect. It will not create a true metallic color but it is a nice alternative. Since it is a metallic clear, added coats will create a more metallic effect. Always remember to apply any metallics lightly or it will cause striping or an uneven effect.
