Hello,

About a month ago I painted a plastic mudguard. It had some cracked paint on it, this was the factory paint i think, so i sanded it away until the surface was all smooth.

I repainted with 2 coats of Acryllic Lacquer paint in white.
Now I have noticed small hairline cracks in the paint.

Why is this happening?
How can i prevent this from happening when i repaint it next time?

Thanks.

When ever you are painting over existing cracked paint, the original paint must be stripped clean not just smoothed over or it will crack again.
