I recently recieved a nasty scratch from some unknown careless person on the passenger side door of my 1985 monte carlo ss. I guard this car with my life and am still at a loss as to how this happened, but anyhow my anger behind me it's time to fix it. I've decided to use the paint shop system. I plan to fix the scratch in the usual manner by sanding and filling the scratch and painting the area gradually blending the color into the undamaged paint then shooting clear on the entire door. My question is when scuffing the entire door what is the recommended grit. Thanks.

first use a grease/wax remover over the whole surface of the door. then you can just use scotchbrite pads toscuff the surface. if you use sandpaper, i recommend 500-600grit wet sanding.
