Hi, I decided to paint my wheels with the duplicolor high performance flat/satin black wheel paint. I sanded the wheels and primed them as well. I painted one wheel and let it sit for a few weeks, and when i finally had some free time, I started the project again. So throughout yesterday and today I have been painting my 3 remaining wheels, but there seems to be a problem. The paint is flaking and its not smooth, whereas, the wheel i painted a few weeks ago is very smooth and theres zero flaking. I have been applying thin coats but Iam already on my 4th one and they are not getting any better. Should I go a little bit heavier on the coats? Or do I have to sand them down with a fine grit and recoat them?

It sounds like your remaining 3 wheels have some type of contaminate on them. Did you clean/degrease the 3 wheels before painting them? I would suggest sanding them down again, thoroughly cleaning them and then applying the paint.
