Going to be painting the plastics of my gsxr 600 aswell as the gas tank i think i finaly decided on the color i want to go.
Due to my accident i have to buy new plastics and fix the rest so i might as well paint it the color i want!

going from this

to this

So i need Gloss Black paint for Plastic aswell as the tank, and the sides plastics are going to be matt black.

I know i will need to use your adhesion promotor ive been researching on the forums. Aswell as possible a primer sealer.

What type of Paint would be best for this you think? Truck and suv paint, the premium general purpose enamel?, or the other enamal black.

and does that kind come in both high gloss and matt black?

Thanks!

A whole lot of prep work is going to be key in this project. I am also going to suggest that you practice on your old plastics first. I am actually going to suggest that you wetsand these panels with a fine 2000 grit paper before even applying the adhesion promoter. This will add extra bite. Use plenty of wax/grease remover before applying the adhesion promoter as well. This will ensure your panels are clean. A primer sealer is not needed since you are not going over top of existing paint. I assume that this plastic is color molded. I am going to suggest using Krylons Fusion for this project along with the adhesion promoter. It is paint for plastic. They offer a gloss, semi gloss and flat blacks in this line and should hold up well.

I hope this helps.
