View Full Version : High Performance Wheel coating?
It's been 3.5 days since I painted my rims and I followed the instructions closely, but I can indent and scratch the paint with my fingernail. I'm sure the tire changer is going to be harsher than my fingernail! Has anyone had any issues with the High Performance Wheel coating being soft and not hardening?

Which color(s) did you guys use? What were the exact steps in your process?

i used the flat black high performance wheel paint. My rims were refinished so they were bead blasted before any painting. I sanded/wet sanded them and washed them. Let them dry for 2 days and then applied 2 coats of primer followed by thin coats of the black paint. One wheel came out great, but the other 3 are flaky and the paint is rough looking. I was thinking that it could of just been the conditions i was painting but i also read somewhere that the final coat of the flat black has to be a little heavier. Just need some help on what i should do now
