Hi Guys,

I just bought a can of DP Etching Primer and Filler Primer (FP101), I'm assuming both will be fine to lay down prior to the Paint Shop base color?

Also, after wet-sanding the primer, how long should I wait for the primer to dry from the water used during wet-sanding before I shoot the base?

I have a Porter Cable 7424 DA buffer. Can you recommend a line of Compounds, polishes etc. to go from 1500-2000 grit sanding in the Clear to perfect, mirror shine?

I have a line on the Mothers Professional line which will seem to work fine, but I wasn't sure if anyone on here had a detail background and could recommend types of pads and products to use.

I'm a couple weeks from paint and am really looking forward to the PS line!

yes, paint shop will work over the filler primers. just as long as the surface is clean and dry w/ no water in any body lines, then it is OK to spray. 3M buffing compound is the best in my opinion. 3M makes a Perfect-it kit with 3 stages of buffing compounds. it is a little more expensive though. mothers will do just fine also, but 3M is the way to go. lets see some pics.:D

Thanks again Chris,

You can lay down the paint after all the water has evaporated. Wetsand any Paint Shop product after 24hours. Wetsand with 1500-2000 grit. You can finish with as fine as 2500 on the clear coat prior to buffing. As far as buffing Chris makes a good suggestion. 3M's Perfect-It system is what I use on my car as well as cars we have painted with Paint Shop. With any buffing compound you will always want to use a system. Do some research on Mothers and 3M's sites for more info.
