Well basically all you need to do is follow the directions on the can when it comes the actual application of the product. The Mirage system is very easy to use it is difficult to mess it up. Just make sure you don't put the color coats on so heavy that you run the paint.
Prep is the most important step when painting. All dirt, grease, wax etc must be removed prior to painting and you must make sure the surface is smooth to get the best 'color flop' results out of the Mirage.
I know that there are alot of plastic parts on motorcycles so make sure you use the correct primers. We offer an adhesion promotor for BARE plastic parts#CP199. Otherwise our self etching primer # DAP1690 will do the trick for most paint jobs like yours.
I hope this helps. Good Luck!

Hi Specialist
I too have a motorcycle and would in the future want to paint my bike.
I have metal & plastic too that makes-up my motorcycle.
Questions Please:
1. So I have to use (2) two primers because I have both metal & plastic body parts on my bike ?
2. Never painted a bike before. Just what are the basics steps in painting my motorcycle please.
Thank You Specialist
GOD BLESS

Schooner as mentioned above, yes there are different primers when painting metal vs plastic. For plastic you use our adhesion promoter which is a clear primer. For metal you use our regular primers ment for metal. Just follor all instructions on the can and your project will come out nice. Just ask if you have any other questions.

And might I add what a HELP you've been with my future bike painting project.
The paint on my '85 Harley truck faded ! The rest of the paint is O.K. I will paint the entire bike though.

It will hold up to UV's but just like any other paint, you must take care of it and wax it to protect it from the sun. Let me know if you have any other questions.
