I'm thinking about painting my motorcycle. I used paint shop in the past on my race car and was very impressed with the ease of painting. I would like to use it on my bike but am wondering if the paint shop primer is ok for plastic. the plastic is already painted so I will just be sanding and painting over that. Is that ok?

Correct. You would have to scuff down any painted surface when top coating even on plastic. Prep is everything. The only thing to be careful on is how flexible the plastic is. Most paints crack when flexed too much.

The other concern, for me, with using any paint on a MC tank... how to treat the edges where the tank cap, fuel vents, and pea**** are. If any fuel gets under the paint, where the paint/clear meat bare metal, with cause the paint the blister and list. This will happen with any kind of paint, be it lacquer or urethanes. I am still not sure how to treat these areas. Some old school painter tricks. A seal of JB weld or superglue along that edge. Haven't tried it. Any other suggestions?

To be honest with you I am unfamiliar with how an MC tank in constructed. This is the type of question for a motorcycle specific forum.
Sorry I can't help with this one. I would imagine if the tank is sealed correctly with a urethane clear then gas will not harm it.
