I recently used Dupli-Color High Performance Wheel Coating (HWP101 Silver) and was impressed with the results. I really like the look of the paint and think that it would be great for the tank and tins on my motorcycle. However, I am more than a little concerned about gas spills damaging the paint on the tank. Does anyone know of a clear coat that would be compatible with the HWP101 Silver and be more fuel-proof?

The only way to have a fuel stain proof tank is to have it Powder Coated or use a Urethane clear. Our clears will hold up but not nearly as well. Its just the nature of the beast when using an aerosol product of any type.

There is a spray can urethane clear coat alternative. It's called Aero-Max.

It's a little pricey, but, should meet your needs

Yep they are out there but unfortunately Dupli-Color doesn't produce such an item........yet. It is a 2 part can that contains the clear and hardener in one, You push the button on the bottom of the can which lets the hardener into the clear. The cans only have a few hour shelf life once it has been popped so make sure you are ready.

Once applied will alloy wheel cleaners start to strip the coating?
