im waiting for the guy to email me back with a rust/dent free fender, doors and a bed.

once i get those ill start preping them and this spring ill start on the whole truck.

one question though.

id like to 2-tone my 06 HHR with Hugger orange over the factory silver.
can i just tape, sand and paint over that, then clear it and wetsand and buff w/o painting the whole car?

Tape off what you need and primer before you paint it. Remove the tape and spray clear over the new paint and carry it over the stock paint a few inches to blend together and to have less of a step between paints. Wet sand and buff to finish.

Great project truck. Gotta love the Ohio rust. As far as two toning your HHR, just mask off and scuff up the area to be painted with a Scotch Brite pad. Spray down with our Prep Spray PS100 and then follow the steps on the back of the can for Paint Shop. You can reclear the entire side of the HHR or you can just clear over the Hugger Orange. Clearing the entire side will help eliminate the tape line. Wet sand with 2000 grip paper and buff from there.
