The weather is still warm here and the paint dries quickly. Is it ok to thin Paint Shop lacquer with a thinner slower than acetone for better leveling? Will it cause problems if I use a retarder or a slow lacquer thinner?

Try not adding anything to the paint. Paint shop is made to pour and spray. No mixing. Why would you want the paint to dry slower? Also, what air pressure are you spraying with? I ask this because if you have to much air pressure then you are force drying the paint as you spray. Lets see pics!:D

Sam,
You can add a retarder to the paint bu you will want to be careful with that. Please contact your local Sherwin Williams Automotive store for recommendations. As Chris stated, you might want to lower your gun pressure and hold the gun a little closer to get the paint to flow better.
