Hey i'm Ryan and I have an 87 fullsize bronco. It's in pretty good shape considering its 20 years old. There are only 2 rust spots and one will be an easy fix.

I have been researching the Paint Shop since I first saw it in O'reilleys. I'm a full time college student with limited funds but i'm wanting to begin this project somewhat soon.

It's black with silver in the middle (the silver is not stock) I have yet to see one close to mine. There are some dents and dings I want to work out and fix the rust (which isnt bad considering many broncos look much worse).

I've always liked the way it looks because its not like anyone elses. I'd like to keep that incorporated with what I do next also.

I will try to post pics later.

Any comments, recommendations, helpful hints, etc. are appriciated.

Hey there..nice Bronco. Yeah it looks like you have a rare paint scheme. Hard to say if it was a factory option or if the dealership did that. Dealerships tend to do some 'add-ons' to help sell more vehicles. Either way it will be a bit tough to recreate that. We do have all of those colors in the Paint Shop line. It looks as though the silver starts darker at the top and fades into a lighter silver?

As far as any body work goes you are going to have to make sure that everything is straight and SMOOTH before applying your color. If you are using a good filler primer then the paint shop primer isn't needed. You can go straight to color then clear. Your going to want to apply the black basecoat first and let that dry for at least a day before you start masking off the areas for the different colors. Once you have all of your base colors applied then you can apply the clear. Make sure you plenty of clear on there so you are able to wetsand and buff. As fine as 1200-1500 grit wet/dry paper is, it doesn't take much to sand that paint off so be careful. If you do go through it is easy to respray/blend back in with new color/clear.

GOOD LUCK!
