I would like to know if I could use Bondo over etching primer in order to prevent rust. I have a 71 GTO with a severe rust problem on the hood and any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Yes you can use any body filler over our Seft Etch primer. I would certainly sand blast off any rust. The only way to stop it is to get rid of it completely. If you spray a Self Etch primer over the rust then it will return.
Thanks

Just a thought......
I have a buddy that had major rust issues and what he did was sanded the areas with rust the best he could first. Then, he sprayed Rustoleum Paint over the rusted areas. Then, used filler where needed, and etch primer over everything. 2 years later...it still looks the same!!!
NOTE: if you are able to paint both sides of the panel, then it will definatly help prevent future rust.

You can also use our Rust Fix rust converter. RF129
