Hello everyone, I'm sure this has been asked a few million times, but here goes again. I have a 67 Mustang coupe I'm thinking on painting. I have been on other sites that have mentioned the paint shop, and what was said was that the paint does not hold up under the sun you might get 6 months of shine, have they preped the car wrong, can soneone tell me what duplicolor suggests, one more question has anybody painted a car out of there garage and what did you do to prepare the garage for painting?

Lacquer paint is prone to fade more than your standard 2 part Urethane paint. Like any paint you must wax it after buffing which will help keep the shine. We have had Paint Shop painted panels sitting outside for 3 years that still hold a nice shine. Prep is certainly everything and if they applied the Paint over poor original paint then yes it won't hold up.

As far as preparing the garage you can build a paint booth with 2x4's and plastic or sweep and wet the floor down prior to paint which will help keep the dust to a minimum.
