I have a question concerning your wheel paint. I have a set of 22" chrome rims. They are strarting to pit pretty badly. Before I spend the money to replace them, I'm considering repainting them, either white or black. Question is: How well do you think the paint will hold up, if I do the following:
1. Sand all pit marks out
2. Sand rim surface with 180/220
3. Apply Etching Primer
4. Apply/Sand Buildable primer to smooth any small pits that may still be there
5. Paint with Duplicolor Wheel paint, and clear coat
Any opinions would be appreciated.

I have a similar question. My rims are polished alloy. I am looking at painting my rims matte black, but my center caps on my rims are chromed plastic. Any recommendations to help this come out correctly and last would help.

You need to scuff up the aluminum as well as the chrome to get the primer and paint to bond.
