:D Ok so I am going to try PS on my Saturn SC2....mostly plastic, some metal. Has anyone found an adhesion and flex additive that works with PS? Also: I have Duplicolor BG900 primer surfacer....is it ok to use over thoroughly scuffed factory paint? (i'm looking to use it's high build capability) the factory paint is not that good!! and I really don't want to strip the car if I can build up the less than perfect areas. Last.....I have a SATA-JET B with a 1.4 and the MSB tips....this is a conventional high pressure gun (55-60psi) will I have problems with the paint drying before it hits the car????? thanks in advance and sorry for the long post.:(

I have used the duplicolor adhesion promoter over abs plastic with good results, as far as the flexing agent go to your local sherwin williams auto paint store and see what they have that will work with acrylic lacquer. I would also use some glazing compound on the spots you intend to use the primer on before you primer it, this will save you a few coats of the primer. You can use the primer no problem over the old paint, just make sure you scuff/sand thoroughly. If you adjust the gun right you will have no problem with the paint drying before it hits the surface. Do some test panels on cardboard with your gun before using it on the car.

Thanks for the response. Is the adhesion promoter the one in the spray can? if so I think they have it at PEP Boys. So if I don't use a flex additive.......how long would the paint stay together? ( with no accidents of course) this car has 210k miles...it doesn't need to be a show car or last much more that a couple of years.;)

Yes the adhesion promoter is the one in the spray can. I got it at pepboys as well. I used a very light coat over the prepped plastic surface and then coated it with regular primer within 10 minutes per the instructions on the can. As long as you do the prep correctly it will last way longer than a couple of years.
