My clear coat is peeling, and I am preparing to fix it. I have read the other post on the issuse. I was wondering about the sanding step. With the 1000 grit sandpaper do I just scuff the surface or do I need to remove all of the old clear down to the base coat?

When you have peeling clear it is best to sand down all loose paint or it will continue to peel. You will also need to top coat with color then reclear the entire area. If you clear over existing clear by blending there is a good chance you will see a transition line between the two clears.

Do you have some links to resources on the how to go about preparing for and doing the restoration? If you have some links I can read up on that would be helpful.
