97 S 10 truck. Current color is black. Can I use paint shop series paint over the factory paint. I want to repaint the top, hood , and top sides of bed, the clear is all coming off. The rest of the truck is great. Should i use a sealer ? or can I sand prime and paint over factory paint. Or is it going to attack the old paint and then lift? Has to be Duplicolor paint because I wont buy nothing else.;)

Hammer, You might be able to just get away with scuffing down and smoothing out the chipped/worn away OEM clear and reshoot just the Paint Shop clear over that and blend it all in. It will work over the OEM finish w/o lifting it. Always test a small area prior to taking on the entire project first. If you can't just clear it then I would scuff and smooth all chipped paint with a Scotch Pad(red) and shoot the black and clear over that. No need for a primer.
