Hey guys!
I saw an episode of Truck U that mentioned the there was a diagram or plans on how to make a paint booth at home. I cant seem to find it. Does ayone have the link or a set of plan that they would share?
Thanks!

Brian,
We're in the process of posting a list of the materials, but we have the entire construction documented in our Dupli-Color TV "Week 7: Paint Prep Part 2" episode. Go back to the DC homepage and then right below the Dupli-Color garage is the graphic with the El Camino, Brian, myself and Jessi... Click on it and it will take you to www.duplicolortv.com. Go to the video section and scroll to the "Week 7: Paint Prep Part 2" clip. It will show you what we used and how we put it together.

Materials:
• 8’ 2”x4” boards (2 per wall section)
• 10’ 2”x4” boards (2 per wall section)
• One additional 8’ 2”x4” for the 45° corner braces (enough for 4 per wall section)
• 8’ 2”x4” boards for ceiling (3 boards for our 10x20 booth)
• 6 Mil plastic sheet roll (remember to calculate enough material for the ceiling)
• Double sided carpet tape or duct tape
• Staple Gun and scrap cardboard pieces
• Square box fan
• 2 air furnace filters
• Drywall screws
Build free standing wood frame walls and place them together to form the booth around the vehicle.
Each wall section will be 8’ tall and 10’ in length. The final length will be a few inches longer once you add in the thickness of the 8’ 2”x4” boards on each end of the frame.
Cut a sheet of plastic slightly larger than the wall section, an additional 8” to fold over the frame is ideal. With the plastic on the ground and the frame laying on top, fold the plastic around the outer edges. You may attach the plastic to the inside of the frame using Tape or a Staple Gun. If using a staple gun, you may want to place a small piece of scrap cardboard
over the plastic before you shoot the staple, if you find that your gun shoots the staples through the plastic.
On each corner of the wall section, attach a short 2”x4” at a 45° angle. This will make the structure much more stable. You can do this on the opposite side of the plastic.
Measure your vehicle and determine the size booth that you will need. You should be able to walk around the vehicle without being cramped. Then build as many sections of wall as you need. Build them all exactly the same.
Stand the sections up and screw them together using drywall screws and use additional bracing to connect the sections if needed. Use a couple 2x4’s to go across the top for every 10’ section.
Then, using a ladder, run the plastic across the top from one side to the other.
Next seal all seams using Duct tape. You may also use plastic on the floor if desired.
Cut one square hole up high on the front of the booth. Place one furnace filter over the hole sealing it with duct tape. This will be the air inlet. Cut one square hole on the back of the booth at the bottom and seal the second furnace filer over it with duct tape. Place the box fan on the back side of the filter on the outside of the paint booth. Secure the fan to the wood frame of the booth if needed. This will be the air exhaust.
You will need to cut a slit for an entry way and for the air hose to enter the booth. To keep this area air tight, just cut another piece of plastic and tape on the top edge then place it on the outside of the slit. When the fan is running sucking air into the booth, the additional piece of plastic will create a seal against the wall with the slit in it.
