The Dupli-Color High Heat line was phased out and replaced the VHT Flame Proof. The color your looking for was replaced by VHT SP117 Aluminum.

So, is anyone having good luck with the VHT flameproof as a replacement for the Duplicolor DH products that were discontinued?

gscott, What are your thoughts on the DH products? Were you happy with their performance?

Unfortunately I learned about the product from a friend, and they were discontinued before I could try them. My friend raved about the black he'd used on a motorcycle header, which I now own. Due to a modification to the header I am trying to recoat.
I have done a lot of searching on the internet, almost unanimously this product received positive reviews. Only one poor experience which I chalk up to either poor prep or poor curing. I've seen photos online of exhaust parts coated in DH1606, they look beautiful and folks were really happy with them. It was a glossier coating than any other product I've been able to find. It seems to be the next best thing to actual ceramic coating, obviously at an entry level price.
There are many folks looking for the product and disappointment that it has be discontinued. I sure wish the black and aluminium were still available.
From what I can gather the VHT line is not as hard a finish or as glossy. I haven't used it yet, I'm still waiting for reviews of this product line.
Oh, and if you are interested in reading some of the reviews and discussions regarding the DH line, I can forward some links to you...

Spent the day cruising around local auto parts stores and can't seem to find my favorite DH 1200 degree semi gloss black paint (the VHT Flame Proof is too flat for my current project).
Discintinued, huh? ****. Can I use the VHT Flame proof clear over the flat Flame Proof black to lessen the BBQ look? Really shooting for a satin or low gloss look.
Any help is appreciated.

What is your project and I can then recommend a product that has a Satin sheen. You might be able to get away with the Dupli-Color Engine Enamel depending on what your doing.
