Hi i am thinking of painting my car the BSP204 Deep Blue. But i would like to see some pics of it on a car, to see how dark it is. If any one has painted their car or anything else Deep blue, please post up any pics u may have. Thanx.

And one question is if its to dark for me could i mix some of the BSP201 Championship White and the Deep Blue to make it a bit lighter.

i believe th ford focus on this site is painted with the deep blue color. really, it isnt very dark. its kinda bright in my opinion. you can mix colors, but be sure to mix enough to spray the whole car so you do not have any mis-matched areas.

Yeah thanks i saw the video they have of when they painted the focus. But u really can't tell how light the color is. So that is why i wanted to see if any one had painted their car Deep Blue. So i can mix the paint together then if i need to. I do plan to mix enough so that i have plenty of paint left over. Thanks Chriss68

MR2's are sweet cars. is that what you are painting? is it a turbo? Post some pics if you have any. i am getting ready to start working on a 1987 300zx soon.

Yeah i am painting my MR2. Its a non turbo. Soon it will have a JDM BEAMS engine, that has 200hp. That car is going to be mostly a track car. I'll post some pics when my computer stops acting up.

The Ford Focus on this site is painted with the Deep Blue. It isn't too dark or too bright. It is a nice middle grade metallic blue. I would say it is a little similar to the Indigo Blue GM used from 2000-2005.

Thanks Chris. Yeah i think the deep blue will look good.
Thanks Brian for giving me a color to compare the deep blue. I at first wanted to paint it Speedway Blue by Toyota. I really like that color. But i am trying to turn this car into a budget race car. I got a quote for just the paint and they wanted $425 for primer, paint, and clear. So i think i am going to maybe mix a little of white with the blue, just to make the blue a bit lighter.
And can u guys tell me how much blue i am going to need just to paint the area of the car that is white. I want to keep the top black.

i estimate 4-5 cans of paint if painting under hood, trunk and engine compartment are included. 5-6 for clear. as stated in other threads, be sure to use plenty of clear to allow for sanding and buffing. Dupli-color is a very user friendly product. if you mess up in a spot, it is very easy to blend it back in. good luck and keep us posted. we like pics:D

Thanks Chris. Yeah i plan on doing under the hood, trunk and engine lid. This will be my first time painting, sanding and buffing a car, so i am going to try to take it a step at a time. And take pics as i go. I'll post pics on here when ever i start. But it probably won't be for a couple of months. Since every weekend for the next couple of months, i have either a autox or a track day.

Poor MR2. Paint Shop is an excellent product for first time painters and the good thing is, it isn't too expensive if you mess up. :D Just follow the instructions on the can and make sure you take your time to prep. Very important.
