New to Painting!! I just sprayed my boat's old chrome Bow light. Any recomendations on a clear coat that can withstand being around Salt Water and inthe sun? Still have not figured out the best way to protect my Chrome Metallic finish. Would you use the Engine Enamel Cast Aluminum (DE 1650) or the clear (DE1636)?? (Saw from your other thread). (Maybe Effex??) I have read the forums and they all say they dull the chrome or turn it dull gray. Since outside all day, I need a good high gloss cover. Also the paint seems to be soft, this is after 24hrs. Will that dry over time and harden or is that what the clear coat does? I painted it with your Sanable primer (2 coats), your Gloss Black Enamel (2 coats) and then the Chrome (3 coats). Waited about 30 miniutes between coats. Thanks!

Yes clear coat will dull any aluminum paint no matter what the brand. Try using our Silver Wheel paint HWP101 and our Wheel Clear HWP103 or Engine clear. It will harden and last in salt water.
