My Grille

It looked really sweet the stock way, but I had to mess with it and paint it. This turned out to be a 8 hour job. But that is ok. I rather do it right the first time than do it twice. This is for my 87 Two door Crown Victoria.

Here is how the day started.

Then i began sanding every square. I used a piece of plexiglass with sand paper wrapped around it. It worked great. BTW there are 210 holes to sand.

The carnage.

All sanded.

Washed with soap and water and rinsed well after the sanding.

Masked off.

The products.

Primed.

Painted black.

After being cleared and removing the masking tape.

I blacked out my headlight bezels so they will match my 79 to 81 grille i painted a couple months back.

They were painted flat black a couple years ago but now i went with the gloss black look so i can touch it up once rocks chip the paint.

Prepped and masked off.

I painted my Premium Sound angled speaker pod covers. I used Duplicolors Fabric and Vinyl paint in Desert Sand color to paint the pods. I was skeptical about using Fabric and Vinyl paint but the representatives from Duplicolor assured me that it is suitable on hard interior plastics, and they were right. It came out pretty darn good. Color looks very similar and the finish is amazing So far I would definitely recommend this product for anybody.

Here are the covers in the original gray color:

Thanks a lot. Only the rear deck speaker covers are installed on the car as of yet because the entire car is currently dismantled of all interior and exterior trim getting ready for paint. But here are some pictures of what the car looked like:

The picture above still has my old blacked out grille and headlight bezels.

Once the entire car is complete I will be sure to share some photos.
