Ok I have a reel spool that has a anodized finish already on it that is in poor condition, I would like to refinish it again. Do I need to strip the old anodized finish completely off or can I spray over it with the MetalCast system without
stripping, also if I have to strip it first what to use to strip it? TY

i recommend stripping to bare metal. if the old color is peeling then spraying something over top of it will not hold up long because the color underneath will still continue to lift and peel. there are a few methods of stripping. sandblasting which it fast and easy. some kind of chemical stripper works but is messy. or you can wire wheel it. ANODIZED finishes may need to be sanded off. if you strip to bare metal, be sure to start with an etching primer.

Chris you are about half right. :D An anodized finish is essentially a colored clear coat over top a chrome like surface. In this case all of the old anodizing has to be stripped off with a chemical stripper so the chrome surface is not harmed. Next the surface must be wiped clean with our Prep Spray #PS100. Next about 1-2 LIGHT coats of our Adhesion Promotor #CP199. Finally about 4-5 LIGHT coats of Metal Cast of your choice.
