I was wet sanding my clear coat on my monte carlo door, went through clear but not the base. What grit paper do I need to scuff the clear so I can reclear without leaving lines? Thanks

I would go over it with 1000 grit wet and lay down several more coats of clear. Hold the gun closer and show it down so the clear flows. Make sure you don't forget the edges. Slowing it down will help the clear flow so wet sanding is easier. Wet sand after about 36 hours of dry time.
