So I'm going crazy trying to figure out specifics on how to SPRAY PAINT parts of my bike flat black (No pro equiptment). I've heard so much conflicting advice. Heres a quick background...
I'm painting the wheels, gas tank (metal), and plastic fenders/side covers.
Now heres where I am totally lost...
1) After I prime and paint my wheels in DupliColor flat black, is a clear coat necessary? I have the wheels off and only want to do this once but I don't want to put an unnecessary gloss clear coat (I cant find matte clear for wheels) on if a lot of coats of wheel paint itself will be satisfactory.
2) Someone PLEASE link me or tell me a brand of matte/flat clear coat that I can use on my GAS TANK!! I've read a ton of stories of gas destroying paint jobs, so I need something that protects and I heard a 2 part clear urathane is best, but I can only find this in gloss. Does anyone know what I can use?
3) Anyone have a reccomendation of best matte paint for the tank? I figure duplicolor wheel for the wheels (which I think satin is the closest to matte I can find) but I dont know what to use for the tank.
THANKS!
